  1. I wanted to paste some of the facebook comments here:
Donald Pitsiladis – I don’t know. the John Carpenter version had an air of mystery and built the suspense really well without relying so heavily on special effects. I’ll check this pre-quel out, but the trailer makes it look more special effects driven, which isn’t always a good thing (pun unintended – lol).

Shawn Micallef – As this is a prequel I’m still wondering why they kept the same name as the original. I do not think they will be able to catch the atmosphere that Carpenter is able to put into his films. Also, Carpenter was great at getting the most of his casts. Considering I have a rough idea how this story will end I wonder why they even went with a prequel. There were plans at one time for an actual sequel to the film, which I’d prefer to have seen.

  2. It won’t have the feeling of a John Carpenter movie to be sure, but I think it will be a good movie. Plus, it has the hot chick from “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”. So, there’s that…

      • OK, so you called me out… again. (I’ll get back to you on the A-ha episode, which I LOVED!) As for my love of “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”, I really enjoyed the movie — I laughed out loud many, many times. It speaks to the comic book/video game geek that I am, plus I love independent music, so I dug all of the Sex Bob-Omb stuff. Now, it’s no secret that I love red-heads, but apparently I also dig chicks who change their hair color mid-movie. That’s just freaking awesome.
