Digital Creative of Dark Horizon’s Vodou Haunted House

[Orlando, FL] –August 9, 2019 –  Florida’s history is coming back to haunt you as Dark Horizon: Point of No Return makes its debut in Orlando, Florida October 4 – November 2, 2019, with the first-ever West Coast-style haunt in the East. Brought to you by the award-winning creators, producers, and directors for one of the most terrifying haunts in the world: The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. Dark Horizon is pleased to announce three gruesome haunted houses, two death-defying live entertainment stages, multiple immersive bars, private party Bootlegger Bungalows and more.

Dark Horizon emerges in Orlando with much anticipation, to feast upon fears, fray nerves, and curdle the blood of its daring visitors. The haunted attraction is divided into different zones, each highlighting pieces of Florida’s dark history, myths and lore. “We really like to dive into local legends and history,” shared Charity Hill Co-producer for Dark Horizon.

The Port is akin to one of the late 1700’s pirate ports in what is now Florida. This zone features the Bootlegger Bungalows, Walk the Plank Pub & Pier, Siren Stage, Dark Horizon Gift Shop, Shark Bites and the entrance to the Marketplace and Panic! 4-D Maze Experience. The Port is also home to the haunted house, Ghostship, a disease-infested, loot-filled vessel adrift on the high seas. This phantom tall ship is filled with deranged and decaying seamen bound to wreak havoc in Dark Horizon’s Port. Will you live to tell the tale or will Captain Killigrew, the most feared female pirate in history, and her derelict crew be your demise?

Escape the clutches of one of Florida’s first serial killer’s, Edgar “Bloody” Watson in the haunted house: Murder Island. Known as a hotbed for murderers, ancient creatures and bizarre tales, thrill-seekers will come face-to-face with the brutality that shadowed the 10,000 islands in the late 1800’s turning it into a shallow grave for at least 57 of Bloody Watson’s sugar cane workers. Murder Island is in The Glades Zone, a virtually lawless land, home to the VIP Storm Cellar, Outpost Pub and Gator Grub.

Experience Sacred Circle Stage and Shelter Patio in The Village. This area is under the enchantment of Mambo Cècile and the haunted house: Vodou. The high priestess has awakened the ancient Loa Agwe, spirit of the water, so proceed with extreme caution through the foggy bog to the underworld Volikan.

For those looking to elevate their experience, Dark Horizon offers an air-conditioned R.I.P. Lounge (or VIP Lounge), called the Storm Cellar R.I.P. Lounge accessed only by a coveted key. This experience includes two complimentary cocktails and grants access to a premium full bar featuring Moonshine Tastings. This key must be used in combination with an event admission ticket, and is for guests ages 21-years and older. Want to skip the lines? Expedite your entry into the event and all the haunted houses with a Fast Fright Ticket (starting at just $74 per person). Or, enjoy nearly instant entry into the event and all the haunted houses with an Evil Express Ticket (starting at $94 per person). Looking for a high-class VIP experience? Spring for the most exclusive experience at Dark Horizon with the Ultimate Scream ticket. This privately-guided and curated experience is extremely limited and available on select nights. Fast Fright and Evil Express Tickets are limited nightly and prices vary depending on date.

With Dark Horizon’s disturbingly creative minds, 4 bars and Bootlegger Bungalows, 3 haunted houses and scare zones, 2 live stages, 1 Panic! 4-D Experience, and hundreds of Monsters, Dark Horizon is certain to be a screamin’ good time.

Dark Horizon opens its doors on October 4 and continues to scare those who dare on select nights through November 2. General admission ticket prices start at just $20 online with Happy Haunting Hour, Fast Fright, Evil Express, Ultimate Scream tickets and Storm Cellar R.I.P. Lounge keys available. For more information or to purchase tickets online, visit www.darkhorizonorlando.com/.

UNVEIL THE STRENGTH Release Official Music Video for “Hell’s Never Over”!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

July 9, 2019 – UNVEIL THE STRENGTH—-featuring Mark WölfeAndy JamesMatt SnellMatt Guillory, and Tim Hassemer (former members of Five Finger Death PunchSacred Mother TongueInvidiaFlatlineDevolved, and Stratovarius)–has released the official music video for their single “Hell’s Never Over.” Originally premiered on Heart Support, “Hell’s Never Over” was directed by Matt Zane (Society 1).

player

“We believe in Heart Support because they are doing something no one else has done. They are bridging the gap for mental health in a relateable way that people and music fans can connect with. On one end you have the music fans that are maybe going through something and feel Isolated , trapped, and lonely. On the other end you have people making music about the very same feelings. The truth is, everyone goes through a dark place, but we have to remember its just temporary, just a moment. Heart Support is never above, never below, and always beside you.” – UNVEIL THE STRENGTH

Unveil the Strength, a quintet composed of former members of iconic bands such as Five Finger Death PunchSacred Mother TongueInvidiaFlatlineDevolved, and Stratovarius are returning to the soul of hard rock: writing and performing real songs with real meaning. Says Matt Snell, bassist for Unveil the Strength, “We want to put the grown man back in metal – that spirit is being lost in the shuffle. We’re going back to the roots, to real fucking metal.”

Despite the band’s old-school approach to writing, they’re taking a contemporary approach to marketing their music. For their upcoming album, Unveil the Strength will not do a traditional record release. Snell reveals, “The landscape has changed so much regarding how to successfully get music to the public, so we’re going a different route. Right now, we’re halfway through the album and we have video concepts for every song. Instead of releasing all 10 songs at once that will just be put up on the internet to be stolen, our idea is to constantly release new songs all the time. We want to unveil this record to the public, with a video to go along with each song.”

Although the band is officially based out of Austin, TX, Unveil the Strength is truly an international band with members in London, Nevada, California, Colorado, and Texas. All of the band members have professional studios where they can record their own instrument’s tracks, so the group easily collaborates by file sharing.

Their first recording, titled “Foundations,” was recorded in Austin, TX. They wanted an edgier sound than what is currently being produced in the States, so they have been working with Rob Kukla of Studio Fredman and Henrik Udd of Henrick Udd Recording in Gothenburg, Sweden. Udd is known for his impeccable production with acts such as ArchitectsBring Me The HorizonAt The Gates, and Delain. The upcoming album slated for a 2019 release, is still in the recording process, but Snell admits, “The production is amazing on the new album. It accentuates that we’re an active rock band – but we’re a little bit heavier, a little bit edgier. It illustrates that we can write, and that we have an ear for metal.” Snell is especially proud of Mark’s lyrics, which he describes as “real.” Snell goes on to praise Mark’s extraordinary writing ability, saying, “Mark has had an amazing life. He is a Marine; a veteran. He’s lived on the streets, ya know? He’s seen and done a lot. He writes from his core being and writes real songs that relate to the band’s message.”

“Zwaremachine are a trio devoted to minimal and militant EBM with a darkwave influence, reminiscent of acts like Dive, The Klinik, and Clock DVA. Their music is eerie and hypnotizing, centered on dark and futuristic soundscapes with cinematic qualities, minimal rhythmic and obsessive structures and loops full tension…Zwaremachine deliver an interesting debut full of neo old-school galore.

Instead of focusing on post-punk inspired moments and noisy, industrial experiments like some of their peers, they follow a personal approach based on the use of synth sounds and minimalistic rhythmic patterns. Sometimes dark and menacing, sometimes funkier and full of groove, they offer a wide sound embracing many aspects of minimal electronics and old-school EBM. A welcome addiction to the resurgence of old-school motifs in modern elctro-industrial/EBM bands.”

The End: An Apocalyptic Anthology

The End Has Finally Arrived…

Available Now Available on Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/dp/1979682712

The End Has Finally Arrived… We all knew it was coming…an Apocalypse to end all things. But how exactly will the world end? Will it be slow or fast? Will it be a zombie plague? A nuclear holocaust? Death from above? Or perhaps something less predictable, like a shocking discovery in an ancient tomb or an unnamed evil stalking us in the shadows? We asked several talented horror writers to deliver their best Dystopian fiction and Apocalyptic stories, and we were horrified by what they predicted. So open up these pages at your own peril, for the End is nigh, and you may discover it is more terrifying than you could have ever imagined!

The End contains short stories by talented writers, such as Shauna Klein, Dona Fox, Andrew Bell, Marisha Cautilli, Joe Cautilli, Brian Barr, D.J. Doyle, Howard Carlyle, Roma Gray, Essel Pratt, Michael Fisher, and G.H. Finn.

This is not your average apocalyptic anthology.  Sure, there are zombies inside, but the end is not always foretold by your favorite television program.

Press Release: DreamReaper

Goosebumps Press Release

https://bandcamp.com/EmbeddedPlayer/track=2175898934/size=large/bgcol=000000/linkcol=8600ff/tracklist=false/transparent=true/After placing second in a remix competition for Powercyan’s “Disciples of the Night,” synthwave artist DreamReaper decided the best use of the prize money was not new equipment or software, but rather to purchase an enormous collection of original 1996 Goosebumps trading cards. After tracking down a seller, failing to negotiate a good price, and impatiently waiting for shipping, DreamReaper is now in possession of nearly 1000 cards bearing the classic images of haunted masks, sentient dummies, possessed cameras, and even one of a dad hooked on plant fertilizer.

As the artist put it, “In today’s uncertain economy, there is no safer investment than limited edition children’s collectibles manufactured in the mid-1990s.” In addition to hoarding the cards, the Phoenix, AZ based musician has begun to include them in merchandise orders and gives them away to fans at shows. Locally, he has become known as “that fucking Goosebumps guy,” a badge he wears proudly.

Today DreamReaper surprised fans with a special new Halloween release: a remix of the iconic TV show’s opening theme.

Available as a free download, “Goosebumps Theme” is a modern electro reimagining of the original that reinvigorates the soundtrack for today’s dance floor. The artist utilizes his signature retro-influenced synthwave sound to flip this ’90s TV favorite into a club-ready electro banger.

Featuring huge distorted French electro bass, creepy piano arpeggios, gritty slap bass, and enough sound effects to open your own haunted house, fans of Justice, The Glitch Mob, and all things spooky are sure to enjoy DreamReaper’s fresh take on this classic throwback.

DreamReaper’s “Goosebumps Theme” is the Halloween banger you never knew you needed.

DreamReaper doesn’t know when enough is enough, and is currently on the lookout to grow his card collection. He encourages any readers with large caches of Goosebumps cards to contact him.

Please direct all inquiries/harassment regarding this matter to mail@dreamreapermusic.com.

About DreamReaper:

DreamReaper is a Phoenix, AZ based electronic musician who specializes in heavy electro inspired by ’80s horror movie synth scores. Think the Stranger Things soundtrack on steroids. He has independently released two EPs, the latest being 2017’s Astro Blaster. As a reviewer on Bandcamp put it, the EP is ”a record that you won’t be able to listen to sitting down… irresistible and unstoppable.”

While the origins of the DreamReaper sound lie within the rapidly growing synthwave/retrowave movement, specifically the “darksynth” style popularized by artists such as Perturbator and Carpenter Brut, DreamReaper enjoys taking the genre in a more modern direction and is not afraid to draw inspiration from contemporary electronic styles including French electro, glitch-hop and drum and bass, as is apparent on the 2017 Astro Blaster EP and recent singles.

DreamReaper states it’s his goal to try make his music be as heavy as possible while simultaneously as groovy as possible, an approach he has been pushing even further on material for his upcoming debut full-length, due for an early 2018 release. The careful balance between these two elements is constantly at play in his work; a track is just as likely to have an epic electro drop as it is to have a funky slap bass breakdown. His recent Goosebumps remix is a perfect example of this dynamic, and only a small sample of whats to come from this promising new artist.

DreamReaper is guaranteed to sandblast your face off with his unrelenting assault of overpowering synths.” -Raccoon via Bandcamp

Press Release: Festival of the Flesh by Jim Goforth

Festival of the Flesh: Book Two

Peel away the bright, colorful facade of the carnival and you’ll find the hideous heart that is the Festival of Flesh.

Hidden within a seemingly innocuous horror-themed carnival exists something far more disturbing. Where those with dollars and depraved desires find everything they seek catered for. Hunted by mutant backwoods freaks, pursued relentlessly by the malevolent ringmaster who usurped their former boss, stranded in the deep woodland, and fasts running out of options, the remaining few free ex-carnival employees are about to be forced into a bloody battle that is only the beginning of a descent into sheer terror. Having discovered the truth behind the carnival’s existence, these desperate souls know there is only one way to save any of their friends from becoming prized exhibits, and perverse playthings for the sick and bloodthirsty. They must gain entry and take part in the gruesome enterprise that lurks behind the garish trappings and faux horror extravagances of the carnival’s new and improved version. Blood is going to pour like rain, to a symphony of screams. Bodies are going to stack up. The entertainment to be had here is enjoyed only by the most sadistic and degenerate of souls, and from all walks of life, they come, from every corner of society, seeking to indulge their sickest, bloodiest impulses.

Press Release: Night of the Penguins

Overthrowing cults with the aid of a new God

A secret cult operates at the zoo Carla works at. They pay doesn’t keep food in her cupboards.  All her clothes are second hand. There isn’t enough money to cope with management, preferred employees, and customers.

Starving before her wages land in her pay packet, Carla walks up the hill to steal some food from the zoo.  She isn’t alone. Induction night for the cult happens at the same place. They need sacrifices to the old Gods to maintain power.

Carla knew management were too stupid to keep power on their own. She didn’t realize the help was supernatural. She hides, looking for morsels to ear. Management know someone is there.

Left with no choice, and nothing to eat, Carla must overthrow the cult. It isn’t a simple case of one bad employer, but many. For underpaid, under-appreciated employees everywhere, Carla stands up aided by a new God.

Dani Brown is the author of “My Lovely Wife” and “Middle Age Rae of F***ing Sunshine” (both out now from Morbidbooks). When she isn’t writing she enjoys knitting and thinking of the finer points of invading Finland with an army of chavs mounted on dingoes. Press Release: Backwoods Bonfire

A Horror Collection with a Twist

Horrific tales of fright told around a bonfire in during remote backwoods retreats are common among close friends. As each person tests the others’ ability to remain calm and resist the urge to look over a shoulder as the sounds of nature bellow out in the backdrop, only one may claim victory as the most frightening of the group.

Backwoods Bonfire inserts the reader into a group of friends that unintentionally create a case study on what horror means to them, attempting to coerce the others to believe that horror is specific, not fluid. However, one of the friends chooses to prove that horror is as real as the fire they all gather around.

Press Release: PUFF 2017

INITIAL LINEUP ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE 2017 PHILADELPHIA UNNAMED FILM FESTIVAL INCLUDES CLOWNS, MURDERERS, AND MORE!

Badges are now on sale for the 2017 Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival to coincide with the initial lineup announcement for the second edition of the fest, with more exciting movies, guests, and events to be added in the coming weeks. This year, the Unnamed Film Festival has been expanded to include a slate of over 30 short films and features from around the globe, in a larger venue in the heart of Philadelphia.

The fest opens on Thursday September 28th with a pair of features and our Opening Night reception. The evening kicks off with a screening of IMITATION GIRL, a dreamy science fiction film meditating on the nature of self, starring Lauren Ashley Carter (JUGHEAD, DARLING) and directed by by Iranian-American filmmaker Natasha Kermani. Kermani will be in attendance for a Q&A following the screening, which will then lead into the opening night reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres for badge and ticket holders.

PUFF Media Sponsor, Arrow In The Head will then help us usher in the opening night feature: Damien Leone’s much anticipated TERRIFER! The movie continues the exploits of the homicidal Art the clown from the anthology film ALL HALLOWS’ EVE, with some of the craziest and most creative kills to ever be projected in Philadelphia!

On Friday night, PUFF returns to present the slasher comedy with a twist TRAGEDY GIRLS, accompanied by a prom-themed party. Guests are invited to don fall formal attire for the Philadelphia premiere of this SXSW favorite. TRAGEDY GIRLS follows two death obsessed high school best friends who take murderous action to gain fame on social media — a mix between MEAN GIRLS and SCREAM, starring Brianna Hildebrand (DEADPOOL) and Alexandra Shipp (X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX).

The Friday late night movie is an unclassifiable oddity that could never be found on mainstream screens: Peter Vack’s directorial debut ASSHOLES. Called a “microbudget cross between SALO and THE SQUID AND THE WHALE” by IndieWire, ASSHOLES begins as clever indie comedy before degrading into a mumblecore body horror that would make John Waters proud.

The fest continues into the weekend with such offerings as the Northeast Premiere of CHARISMATA, a stylish and mind-bending serial killer thriller from the UK, followed by a Q&A with director Andy Collier.  PUFF 2017 sticks close to its horror roots with the slasher flick RUIN ME as its late night Saturday feature. Reminiscent of the 1986 classic APRIL FOOL’S DAY,  RUIN ME finds its setting in an immersive horror game in the woods that turns deadly.

As always, PUFF will highlight Philadelphia’s local talent on Sunday, October 1st. Sunday kicks off with the Icelandic supernatural drama RIFT, presented by the Philly based distribution company Breaking Glass Pictures. Our regional spotlight continues with the world premiere of the Pennsylvania slasher film 100 ACRES OF HELL, starring professional wrestler Gene Snitsky, with a cast and crew Q&A. The local program will then wrap with PUFF presented local shorts on late-Sunday afternoon.

PUFF 2017 will take place September 28th to October 1st at the Proscenium Theater at the Drake (located at 302 South Hicks Street, Center City, PA). The festival will also include an art show in the lobby presented by local art collective The Jerks, additional Q&As with cast and crew, and wine and beer at the theater concession stand. Stay tuned for additional announcements, including more guests, PUFF short film selections, and the closing night film!

How good can a free book be?

Last month I offered a unique opportunity to my subscribers to download any of over 70 books for other authors for free. Many of you took advantage of this and let me know how much you enjoyed it. Some questioned why an author would do this and….how good could the book actually be?

The simple answer… is not so simple. The publishing world is undergoing some tremendous changes right now. Traditional book stores are losing ground to online book sellers. More and more authors are self-publishing instead of going to a major publishing house. Most people don’t realize that authors today have to literally create and audience one reader at a time. The Amazon business model is great in many ways but also very challenging, it does disconnect us from our audience. Offering an eBbook that you have worked months, even years on for a crazy low price or even free is one of the few ways we have of generating lots of sales/downloads in a short time. This improves rankings which, in turn create more visibility and equal more sales.  As an author, it can be difficult seeing your creation being offered so cheaply (or even free) but if you gain a new reader, it is a win for your future work. So, if you see me and others promoting free books from time to time — take a look. For the price of simply subscribing to a newsletter you may find a great new book or a new favorite author.

What are you reading?

I have friends and family members who love to share with me books or authors they are reading and I do the same. Many of you may know by now that if I am not writing, I’m reading. Actually… I always read, even when I am writing. Right now, I am in the middle of ‘Pandemic’ by A.G. Riddle.
This is one I would recommend to you. Perhaps you have read it as well if so, let me know what you think of it. I have no affiliation with this author or his books just like to support good work. In the last few weeks I have also read ‘Armada’ by Ernest Cline, (Great!) ‘Earthcore’ by Scott Sigler, Brad Thor’s new novel, ‘Use of Force’ and an audio book series by Craig Alanson  I’d love to hear from you as well, who are you reading now and what’s your opinion of it?   If you don’t want to email me just respond on my Facebook or Twitter page.

Press Release: Entertaining Demons by Daniel I. Russell

Your heart starts to beat faster, and you realize this is what makes summer so wonderful.

Synopsis:
ENTERTAINING DEMONS by Daniel I. Russell is at times vicious and at others all too real examination of the realities of being a teenage girl.

Starring in the reality TV show PI: Paranormal Investigations should be a dream come true, but for Molly it’s a nightmare. Between constant filming, unexplained occurrences waking her at all hours, and the scrutiny of her friends and neighbors, she is frustrated and exhausted. Unfortunately, the contract her grandpa signed says she can’t quit and she does need the money. Besides, the show’s host, Samuel, is the only one who wants to help stop the hauntings. Molly decides to ride out the experience, thinking that footsteps and rattling doorknobs in the middle of the night aren’t so bad.

Molly’s wrong.

Demons are making their way to Molly’s quiet English town, intent on shutting down the show. As the darkness converges, Molly is caught in a struggle among demons while desperately fighting to keep her family safe.

Will she survive the night? Find out in ENTERTAINING DEMONS

What fans are saying:
“Daniel I. Russell’s work has proven before to be terrifying, suspenseful, fast-paced, and gruesome: Entertaining Demons does it all again, and ratchets it up tenfold. Not for the weak of stomach or of mind, this is the sort of novel one will look back on decades from now and still remember for its grit, dark daring, and one hell of an ending.”
—Eric J. Guignard, author and editor, including After Death… and Baggage of Eternal Night

“In Daniel I. Russell’s diabolically dark satire Entertaining Demons, the damnation of teenager Molly is big business and the very biggest and baddest of the big brothers is watching. Make a Faustian deal with this book — you won’t regret it!”
—Greg Chapman, Bram Stoker Award-nominated author of Hollow House

Slowed down techno and industrial sounds drenched in darkness. Nobody knows anything about Susan Gittes other than what we hear in her music’; its our best guess that she is a psychopathic killer on the loose, with a sampler and a drum machine. Sometimes heavy on percussion while other times heavy on the synths and soundscapes, Susan Gittes definitely knows how to create a feeling. Regardless of who Susan Gittes is, this release is already getting some major underground techno support from the likes of D.A.V.E. the Drummer aka Henry CullenCorvad and Fear The Priest. When contacted about the tracks and her process in music making Susan only replied with “…when i make songs I’m basically acting on impulses, what results is often emotional leftovers from my last seduction.”

FLORIDA GOTHIC by Mitzi Szereto

Stuck in a twilight world between life and death…

A hit-and-run driver leaves Ernesto Martinez to die by a Miami canal. Then an alligator comes along to finish the job.

Being dead gives Ernesto plenty of time to think. He thinks about his wife, taken from him too soon by illness. He thinks about his daughter, the victim of a drunk driver. He thinks about his death as he watches his body slowly decompose.

Most of all, he thinks about injustice.

The meth head ex-con living in the Everglades. The judge enjoying retirement on the Gulf Coast. The son of a Colombian drug kingpin partying in South Beach. These men care nothing for the pain they’ve caused. But they’ll soon know what it is to feel pain.

Set against the sweltering bug-infested backdrop of South Florida, Florida Gothic weaves a darkly unnerving and visceral tale of sex, drugs, crime and vengeance.

“Mitzi Szereto’s dark night of the soul is one wild, soul-blasting old mother of a trip, plus maggots, cockroaches, and cocaine. Solid, slippery, bug-eyed fun.”—Peter Straub, Interior Darkness: Selected Stories

Has something, or someone, come to exact a bloody vengeance? And how is it linked to a serial killer’s twenty year spree throughout the Nutmeg State?

Afraid of death, future loss, injury, and imprisonment, the majority of humans have become easily controlled and dominated by the powerful few. The greatest resource in history has not been gold or oil, it has been the extortion of other humans. You can’t get a hen to lay more eggs by threatening it but you can get a human to give you his eggs by threatening him. Human fear farming has been the most lucrative trade of all time and even now continues to feed the evil plans for domination of the universe by the bloated, power mad, and greedy Human Coercion Machine.World Gone

Hailing from a rusted old shed behind a trailer park on the Westside of Jacksonville, World Gone is preparing to assault your life and senses with a freak audio apocalypse like none before. Years of pent up aggression and disgust with state of our so called civilized society and clustered masses of trendy spineless media outlets have bred a wholeheartedly honest and vigorously explosive combination of volatile ingredients forming the thing know as World Gone. Your ears will be forcefully penetrated and your eyes will be ruthlessly violated by being witness to this xenomorph of maximum twisted force. Coming into existence through the wake of an unrealized dream, fueled by discontent and unwanted experiences, feelings, and thoughts, World Gone dissects and probes the depths of these shadow areas somehow trying to make something sick yet beautiful from the darkness in our lives and their current state of disrepair. World Gone has set on a journey to provoke inspired thought among the listening legions with poetry wrapped in an audial onslaught of brutality tempered with deep emotions that have been carved from the rotten flesh we call life. Singer and front man Joe Bennett is no newcomer to the shit storm known as the music business. Formerly with platinum selling artist Cold and other local Jacksonville heavy hitters like Snagglepuss and Order by Chaos, Joe has set out to make a difference not just for one group of listeners but all listeners. He has the presence, mind, and voice to delivers this post apocalyptic mutant gospel through at times terrifying and haunting orchestrations. Through years of writing and collaborating with some of the most creative minds in the industry like former and current members of Puddle of Mudd, Cold, and Evanescence, Joe has honed his craft and ability to pull at the frayed heart strings of your soul. Prepare to feel something, prepare to think, prepare to go beyond what is seen and explore the hidden dark corners of your mind. World Gone will rise to the pulpit to deliver this sermon with a dysfunctional choir to the fallen congregation. Give us your restless and shattered souls, we will give them the nourishment they seek. Sick and twisted things are happening in the underground of Florida. Come with us.

Press Release: The 45th’s Terrifying Tomorrow: All of the Flesh Served

Press Release:  The 45th’s Terrifying Tomorrow: All of the Flesh Served

How does a Horror/Dark Fantasy writer deal with the anxiety from our current political climate? He writes about it.

Terry M. West’s All of the Flesh Served is a novella due out on May 5th. The description:

Hundreds of years after the great cataclysm, the Ministry of the 45th survive in a network of scientific bunkers. The last bastion of the old holy order, the 45th are bent on rebuilding the scorched earth and eliminating God’s enemies. The Ministry wages a war against the mutant topsiders that occupy the dead states of the Soviet Union of America. Defending the 45th are the Red Guard, genetically engineered soldiers who are programmed to obey through their lifebrand. Dr. Morgan is a serviceman for Unit 468 of the Red Guard. His lifebrand being medicine, Dr. Morgan is the longest surviving field medic to serve. But Dr. Morgan is a deeply conflicted man with violent fantasies that contradict his pledge to preserve life. After escaping an abduction by the topsiders, Dr. Morgan’s faith is cracked. During a furlough in the high Chancellor’s bunker, Dr. Morgan is hailed a hero and taken off the front lines. But he soon realizes that someone has altered his lifebrand and lifted the veil that concealed the greatest deception ever perpetrated. Dr. Morgan has just become the most dangerous man in the wastelands. And when he discovers who the real enemy is, the revelation unleashes a fury strong enough to destroy what is left of the earth.

Expanded from a post-apocalyptic short story Terry wrote two years ago, he decided to center the novella on a possible dark future caused by the political actions currently in motion. “An all out attack on humanity, endangered species, the planet itself, and democracy. You know, that pesky little thing many, many Americans have died to protect,” Terry elaborates.all-of-the-flesh-served-cover

“The story begins with a quote from Voltaire,” Terry said. “Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities. And there lies the center premise of the story. This isn’t a satire. I have been wracked with fear and anger, and rather than unleashing it on people who disagree with me, I decided to work it out in this story. And this isn’t a one-sided attack. I have tried to give a feasible motivation to the Ministry of the 45th. There is a message to this story. I honestly feel this is the most important tale I have ever created. I hope more artists express themselves during this insanity.”
